Reasons to keep swimming through the cooler months
Don't let the cooler weather keep you out of the pool as there are so many reasons to keep up with your aquatic fun and fitness.
Keeps you fit - swimming keeps your heart rate up, builds cardio fitness, burns calories, and develops endurance.
Builds muscle tone and strength - exercise releases chemicals into your body called endorphins.
It boosts your mood - exercise releases chemicals into your body called endorphins.
Is really good for your brain - swimming has found to increase blood flow to the brain, which leads to more oxygen.
Great for all ages and abilities - the ability to control your own pace and intensity means that you can swim at your own capability.
You can meet new people - come and join in a class, or just have a chat in the pool when doing laps!
At Lake Mac Swim Centres we see children who swim year-around achieve swimming milestones with greater ease and confidence than seasonal swimmers. Don't let all the hard work you do during summer be forgotten over winter!
